Role Purpose
As a Youth Support Worker, you will provide a safe, dependable, and nurturing living environment for children and young people within our Residential Care program. Working under the guidance of a Case Manager, you are the frontline support responsible for the daily well-being, safety, and development of young people who may have experienced significant trauma or displacement.
Key Responsibilities

Direct Care & Support: Deliver high-quality day-to-day care to young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Behavioural Support: Support young people in managing highly complex and challenging behaviours using trauma-informed care and non-judgmental approaches.

Life Skills Development: Facilitate daily routines and plan activities that promote independence and life-skills development (e.g., cooking, budgeting, personal hygiene).

Documentation & Administration: Complete detailed case notes and incident reports daily. Utilise computer systems for administrative tasks and communication.

Environmental Maintenance: Actively contribute to a clean, safe, and homely environment within the residential house.

Community Engagement: Accompany and support young people in attending appointments, school, and recreational activities.

Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must possess or be able to obtain the following:

Blue Card: Current QLD Working With Children Blue Card (or proof of application).

Yellow Card: Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or proof of application).

Driver’s License: Valid Queensland Driver’s License (unrestricted).

Qualifications: Currently hold or be enrolled in a Certificate III or higher in a relevant field (e.g., Community Services, Youth Work, Individual Support).

Availability: Flexibility to work a variety of shifts across a fortnightly roster, including days, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers.

Screening: Willingness to undergo a Licensed Care Suitability Check (LCS2) and a National Crime Check.

References: Ability to provide two references from recent employers.
